The 2021 census showed that 53.1% of the Warnervale-Wadalba District’s population was employed full-time (higher than the average % across the Central Coast), 30.9% were employed part-time, and 4.5% were unemployed but looking for work. 

Around 19% of the Warnervale-Wadalba population was in health care and social assistance, followed by 11.5% in retail and 10.3% in the construction industry. 

At the time of writing, 3000+ jobs, including entry-level to advanced positions, were advertised on Seek within 50km of Warnervale.

Upcoming Infrastructure

According to the Central Coast Regional Plan 2036, over the next two decades, more housing (including a greater variety of housing) is planned in the new Warnervale-Wadalba land release areas. A vibrant new town centre will also act as the service centre of up-and-coming communities. The town centre revamp will also include improved transport connectivity, i.e. a new link road to the Pacific Highway.

The council will also aim to place industrial, freight, manufacturing, and logistics businesses near freight routes near the M1 Pacific Motorway interchanges at Somersby, Tuggerah, and Warnervale, ultimately improving employment and population growth in the area.

In the 2021 census, 701 people lived in Warnervale, with an average of three people per household (two parents and one child). The median age was 34, and 42.7% of people were married versus 38.8% who had never married—a nearly-even split. 

The highest level of education was certificate level III (23%), followed by year 12 (15.4%) and year 10 (14.8%).

Zoning

According to Land Checker, at least 65% of the Warnervale area is classified as “Environmental Conservation Area”, followed closely by “General Industrial” and “Infrastructure”. Around 3.5% of the area is “General Residential”, which is expected to change as housing and the population skyrocket towards 2036.
