The Avalon 1 242 has fast become one of our most popular single storey designs. On display at Billy’s Lookout in Teralba, this home exudes a classic contemporary design with a mix of coastal vibes thanks to the paradise-white front posts paired with sandy coloured brickwork and a cultured stone feature.

The wide pivot door welcomes you into a surprisingly spacious entrance for a single storey home. To the left is the master suite with dual walk-in robes and a beautifully bright ensuite bathroom. The ensuite features dual shower heads, a double basin and a tiled wall recess – perfect for storing your shower accessories whilst providing a beautiful focal point.

Leaving the master suite and returning to the entrance, you’re met with two steps that descend from the entrance to the main hallway. The step down is courtesy of a split slab; a feature incorporated into this level site design to accommodate a small gradient in the otherwise level site. This demonstrates just one benefit of building with Montgomery Homes – our sloping site specialist skills are easily transferred to enhance a seemingly level site to provide more flexibility in our designs for our clients. Should you have a flat block, this step can simply be removed.

Moving along the hallway, past the internal garage access door, the home theatre to the right is the first of three living areas in this home that was designed with growing families in mind.

The second and main living area is a room filled with texture – from the subtly panelled feature wall, to the luxe rug, and naturally sourced furniture items. The living room sits adjacent to the dining area and kitchen; it’s a spacious open plan layout that multiplies when the sliding corner-stacker doors open to join the alfresco with the internal living spaces.

The kitchen is flooded with natural light thanks to the window splashback positioned behind the stunning freestanding cooker.

A highlight of this home is the contemporary butler’s pantry and laundry that provides ingress from the garage to the kitchen – a convenient access point for arriving home with groceries, school bags, and shoes.

The third living space – complete with study nook – is a great children’s retreat sitting alongside the main bathroom and three bedrooms, each with their own deep-set walk-in robe.
